How to Take Care of Your Car Like a Pro

Getting your license is more than hard work, and paying off your car is another hurdle. So now that you’ve conquered miles with your wheels, it’s about time to show some love to your car!

In celebration of Car Insurance Day, here are tips on how to care of your car like a pro:

1. Clean the outside and inside of your car at least once a month

It’s not only gross to drive a dirty car but it’s also dangerous to even have a foggy windshield. Dude, if you want your car to last longer, maintain its cleanliness. Wash your car at least once a month.

Do the necessary cleaning of its parts: windshield, side mirrors, tires...everything. You should also invest in buying a vacuum to clean your car floor. And please don’t make your car a garbage can, throw wastes away. After doing so, you need to remember to. Keep. It. Clean.

Friendly tip: cleaning the outside of your car with a dry cloth might scratch your paint job. Use some of that miracle liquid to keep the shine of your paint last.

2. Check all necessary parts like:

* Your tire pressure - Properly inflated tires will save you from accidents. Keep an eye on your tire pressure as it constantly changes as the tires log miles and as the temperature changes.

* Your oil - Changing your oil is very important as it defines your car’s performance. Do this for your car’s gear so they don’t grind and tear each other up.

* Your brake fluid - Man, do we really need to explain this? Check your brake fluids just because. You need this for safe driving. You really do.

* Your spark plugs - If these are in a bad condition, it leads to gas mileage and lack of acceleration, according to BuzzFeed. This can greatly impact your engine eventually, leading to troublesome repairs.

3. Rotate your tires every time you change your oil

You don’t want your tires to be worn off quickly, do you? Rotating your tires means interchanging its position. The front tires go on the back and back tires on the front. WikiHow taught us that doing this will make them last longer. EZ.

4. Park in the shade

Parking your car right under the sun doesn’t just make your car an instant oven, it also causes heat damage to your interior and your paint job--which results to minus pogi points for your car. You choose.

5.Get car insurance. Seriously.

This isn’t just a requirement by the LTO (Land Transportation Office) for your car registration that brings extra hassle for you. Car insurance is a necessity because it is protection. From what?

It protects you from any possible liability to a third party which arises from accidents that driving your car might cause. It pays in behalf of you should the unfortunate happen. We cannot emphasize enough how much you need this!
