Why Ignoring Your Passion is Slow Suicide

Whenever people talk about careers, the first thing that comes to mind is that you have to pick the in-demand job because of the high salary it offers. But is salary really the only thing to consider when it comes to choosing a career?

Picking the path to take for the rest of your life is a big decision that would greatly affect you and your future. Worry not though; the most successful people have useful advice for those still building their success, keep the fire of your passion burning brightly.

A social entrepreneur, Kevin Claiborne, famous for the book he wrote entitled 413 Ways to be Successful, said “Ignoring your passion is slow suicide. Never ignore what your heart pumps for. Mold your career around your lifestyle and not your lifestyle around your career.” It simply means that you have to love what you do or do what you love.

Whether it is painting a portrait, writing a sad poem, designing a building, teaching young minds, or saving people’s lives, if you love doing it, don’t ever let anything stop you. Why?

While doing these activities, the love or the passion is great within you. And no one else is responsible for its fire but you, so keep it burning for it is what fuels your motivation to do your best in everything, leading you to success.

Also, it is vital that you establish a positive connection toward your work for you to have a greater appreciation of what you do. That way, it won’t feel like you are working at all, it would feel like you’re just doing your hobby, while getting paid!

You are also close to reaching everyone’s goal: establishing a life which you don’t need a vacation from. How awesome is that?

Another plus when you do what you love is that you feel healthier: physically, mentally and emotionally. You do not feel tired all the time, because you are not pressured making you less prone to stress.

This advantage is a sign that you have a long life to live. And to ensure that you can continue going to where you want to be, protect yourself by having health insurance. Remember that true success is not all about money. Knowing that you have taken an important step towards solidifying your bright future is just as important as strengthening your passion.

It is very important to keep that passionate fire burning inside you. Do not let it die! If you feel that it is what your heart pumps for, do not let anything stop you from doing what you love. Live, spread that fire, and illuminate your way towards your future!
